A Washington board covers three jurisdictions and three airports before lunch. A senator’s staff books a car from Capitol Hill to Dulles, a law firm needs a sedan at Reagan for a 6am arrival, and a motorcade closes the street your driver was about to turn down. Grasp Solutions provides outsourced dispatch and call answering for Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland limousine, black car and sedan operators, staffed by trained people around the clock and working inside the booking system you already run.
To be clear about where we sit: our operations center is in Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers work Eastern time hours alongside your fleet. That is how we give you a fully awake person on the board at 4am, when the first Dulles departures and early Hill meetings are being confirmed.
What makes dispatch in Washington DC different
- Three airports, three operators – Reagan and Dulles are run by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, BWI by Maryland, and each has its own pickup procedure.
- Three jurisdictions on one trip – a Bethesda pickup through the District to Arlington crosses Maryland, DC and Virginia rules in one booking.
- Closures with little warning – state visits, motorcades, protests and security perimeters change routes the same day.
- Corporate and government accounts expect precision – assistants and travel desks want a named driver, a vehicle and an ETA confirmed in writing.
- Event weeks fill every car – inaugurations, summits, conventions and graduation season compress a month of bookings into a few days.
What our dispatchers handle
- Live booking calls – answered in your company name and entered straight into your dispatch platform with pickup, drop, passenger names, flight numbers and account codes.
- Airport and flight watching – DCA, IAD and BWI arrivals tracked, pickups adjusted, passengers told before they ask.
- Driver support – reroutes around closures, reassignments, no shows and the driver who cannot reach a passenger inside a secured building.
- Corporate, embassy and hotel accounts – standing bookings handled to each account’s rules, including who may book and who must approve.
- Event and roadshow blocks – multi-car, multi-day schedules entered and confirmed as a set.
People, not AI
Every call is answered by a person. An executive assistant changing a pickup three times before a board meeting needs someone who keeps track, not a recording. Our dispatchers learn your service area, vehicle classes, regular accounts and the terminal doors, hotel entrances and building security desks your drivers actually use. For where AI answering helps and where it breaks on a dispatch line, see our guide to AI phone answering systems vs human dispatchers.
Coverage
Cover runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including federal holidays and the event weeks when in-house cover is hardest to hold. Choose the full clock, overnight only, weekends only, event weeks only, or overflow behind your own dispatchers at peak hours. Special rates apply to overnight, weekend and holiday only cover.
No migration, no morning data entry
We work in your systems. Our dispatchers are used to Limo Anywhere, Moovs, TaxiCaller, iCabbi and other operator-owned platforms, plus hosted phone queues and shared inboxes. Bookings taken overnight are already in your platform when your day dispatcher logs in.
What you are not signing up for
- No long term contract. Month to month, and you stop when it stops being useful.
- No platform switch. We use the dispatch software and phone system you already have.
- No minimum seat count. Cover one shift, one event week or the whole year.
- Special rates for overnight, weekend and holiday only cover.
The Washington rules your dispatch desk runs into
Reagan National and Dulles are both run by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, and any for-hire limousine operator picking up or dropping off at either airport needs an Airports Authority limousine permit and must follow its regulations (current edition dated November 2022). Dulles only allows permitted sedan and limo services, pickups must be prearranged, and soliciting anyone at the airport is prohibited.
Inside the District, luxury sedans and limousines run under operating authority from the Department of For-Hire Vehicles. Each vehicle is pre-approved by DFHV, passes a DC DMV for-hire inspection and is registered with DC “L” tags. Maryland and Virginia license their own operators, so a regional fleet usually carries more than one set of paperwork.
For a dispatch desk this is practical. Before a car is sent to Reagan or Dulles, whoever is dispatching needs to know it is covered by your airport permit. Before a District job, they need to know the vehicle has its tags. We keep both on the board, so an overnight dispatcher is not guessing.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have an office in Washington DC?
No. Our operations center is in Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers work Eastern time for DC-area fleets. The booking platform and phone queue are online, so nothing about the service depends on being in the District.
Can you handle corporate account rules?
Yes. Approved bookers, billing codes, preferred drivers and confirmation formats are written into your desk guide and followed on every booking.
Can you cover only event weeks?
Yes. Inaugurations, summits and convention weeks are a common way DC operators start, because those are the weeks an unanswered phone costs the most.
How quickly can cover start?
Once we have access to your dispatch platform and a written escalation list, cover is usually live within days.

Dispatch cover in other US cities
If you run vehicles beyond the capital region, we keep the same desks and the same people on dispatch in New York, Long Island, Chicago, Florida (including Orlando, Tampa, Miami and Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville), Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Houston. We also run desks for Dallas, Boston and Atlanta fleets. Fleets that only need the quiet hours covered usually start with after-hours answering or overflow call handling instead of a full desk.
