Tampa Bay is three cities, two airports and a lot of water in between. A 5am run from Westshore to TPA, a cruise group leaving Channelside and a wedding party heading to Clearwater Beach can all land on the same board, with the bridges deciding how long each one takes. Grasp Solutions provides outsourced dispatch and call answering for Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater limousine, black car, sedan and taxi operators, staffed by trained people around the clock and working inside the booking system you already run.

We will be plain about where we are. Our operations center is in Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers work Eastern time hours alongside your fleet. That is what makes real overnight cover possible: the person on your board at 3am Tampa time is starting a shift, not finishing a double.

What makes dispatch in Tampa different

  • The bridges set the clock – a slowdown on the Howard Frankland or Courtney Campbell changes every ETA between Tampa and Pinellas.
  • Two airports, two habits – TPA and St. Pete-Clearwater serve different airlines and different passengers, and a caller told the wrong one goes to the wrong side of the bay.
  • Cruise days come in waves – sailings out of Port Tampa Bay send a block of transfers out together and bring them back on the same morning.
  • Game days and events – stadium games, concerts and festivals put a week of demand into a few hours.
  • Storm season moves the whole board – a tropical system or an afternoon storm reshuffles flights, sailings and pickups at once.

What our dispatchers handle

  • Live booking calls – answered in your company name and entered straight into your dispatch platform with pickup, drop, passenger count and flight number.
  • Airport and flight watching – TPA and PIE arrivals tracked, pickups moved when flights move, and the passenger told where to meet the driver.
  • Driver support – reassignments, no shows, vehicle problems and the call from a driver who cannot find a passenger at a terminal, a hotel or a cruise terminal.
  • Corporate, hotel and wedding accounts – standing bookings and account rules handled the way each account expects.
  • Cruise and event blocks – grouped transfers for sailings, games and weddings entered and confirmed as a set.

People, not AI

Every call is answered by a person. A traveler whose flight landed two hours late, or a wedding planner moving six cars at once, wants someone who can think, not a menu. Our dispatchers learn your service area, your vehicle classes, your regular accounts and the terminal doors, hotel entrances and venue drop points your drivers actually use. For where AI answering helps and where it breaks on a dispatch line, see our guide to AI phone answering systems vs human dispatchers.

Coverage

Cover runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holiday weekends, game days and the nights when in-house cover is hardest to hold. Choose the full clock, overnight only, weekends only, cruise and event days only, or overflow behind your own dispatchers at peak hours. Special rates apply to overnight, weekend and holiday only cover.

No migration, no morning data entry

We work in your systems. Our dispatchers are used to Limo Anywhere, Moovs, TaxiCaller, iCabbi and other operator-owned platforms, plus hosted phone queues and shared inboxes. Bookings taken overnight are already in your platform when your day dispatcher logs in.

What you are not signing up for

  • No long term contract. Month to month, and you stop when it stops being useful.
  • No platform switch. We use the dispatch software and phone system you already have.
  • No minimum seat count. Cover one shift, one cruise season or the whole year.
  • Special rates for overnight, weekend and holiday only cover.

The Tampa rules your dispatch desk runs into

At Tampa International, a limousine operator picking up passengers must first obtain a permit and an AVI transponder from the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. Trip fees are deducted from a prepaid account each time a permitted vehicle comes in to pick up, so a low balance can become a dispatch problem. Drop-offs do not need a permit.

The Authority’s ground transportation manual is strict about behavior on the ground. Only passengers who have reserved in advance may be picked up, and there is no solicitation of any kind. Limousines may not wait on the arrivals curb; they wait in the commercial vehicle staging area or the cell phone lot. A driver meeting a passenger inside the terminal may hold one hand-held sign no larger than 7 by 12 inches.

For a dispatch desk this is practical. Before a car is sent to TPA, whoever is dispatching needs to know the vehicle is permitted, its transponder is on the windshield and the driver knows to stage, not wait at the curb. We keep that on the board, so an overnight dispatcher is not guessing.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have an office in Tampa?

No. Our operations center is in Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers work Eastern time for Tampa Bay fleets. The booking platform and phone queue are online, so nothing about the service depends on being in Florida.

Can you cover both sides of the bay?

Yes. Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater bookings run on the same board, with drive times and bridge routes written into your desk guide during onboarding.

Can you cover only early mornings and cruise days?

Yes. Many Tampa Bay operators start with the hours between 10pm and 7am and the mornings when ships come in, because that is when pre-dawn airport runs and cruise returns are booked.

How quickly can cover start?

Once we have access to your dispatch platform and a written escalation list, cover is usually live within days.

Elsewhere in Florida we run the same desks for Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville fleets, and our Florida dispatch page covers the rest of the state.

Dispatch cover in other US cities

If you run vehicles beyond Tampa Bay, we keep the same desks and the same people on dispatch in New York, Long Island, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Houston, Washington DC, Dallas, Boston and Atlanta. Fleets that only need the quiet hours covered usually start with after-hours answering or overflow call handling instead of a full desk.
