Most of the calls that decide whether a fleet grows or shrinks arrive after the office has gone home. A hotel concierge at 9pm. A dispatcher at a distribution center at 4am. A regular customer booking a 5:30am airport run the night before. A driver whose vehicle has just failed on a job at 1am. Grasp Solutions answers those calls with trained people, in your company name, so nothing rings out and nothing lands in a voicemail box that gets checked at nine the next morning.
We are not an AI receptionist. Every call is taken by a person who knows your service, your coverage area and your rules.
What after hours cover actually includes
- Live call answering in your company name – no menu tree, no hold music loop, no bot asking the caller to repeat the address.
- Booking taken and entered in your system – not a message for somebody to re-key in the morning. The job is live in your platform before the call ends.
- Active dispatch, not just message taking – we allocate the driver, confirm the pickup and follow the job to completion.
- Escalation by your rules – we know which situations wake you up and which ones can wait until 8am, and we stick to that list.
- Driver support overnight – address problems, breakdowns, customer disputes, so drivers stop calling the owner’s cellphone at 2am.
- A clean handover at shift change – a written summary of what happened overnight, ready when your day team logs in.
Why in-house night cover rarely lasts
Every operator tries the same three things first. The owner takes the calls, which works until the exhaustion catches up. A senior driver takes the phone, which works until they are mid-job and cannot answer. Calls divert to voicemail, which works for nobody – the caller simply rings the next company on the list and, worse, learns that you are unreachable at night. None of these is a staffing plan.
Hiring a dedicated night dispatcher solves it but is hard to justify when the overnight volume is real yet uneven. Outsourcing the shift lets you buy covered hours instead of a covered headcount. Special rates apply for overnight, weekend-only and holiday cover, which is exactly how most operators start with us.
People, not AI
An after hours caller is usually stressed, tired or stranded. That is the worst possible moment to hand them to a voice bot. Our agents are human, trained on your operation, and able to make a judgement call rather than route a caller into a loop. The whole value of answering at 3am is destroyed if the thing that answers cannot help.
Coverage
We cover all four continental US time zones, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the holidays your own staff want off. Our operations center runs from Lahore, Pakistan, and our agents are trained on US operations, US addressing and US customer expectations. We also support businesses in Canada, the UK and Australia.
Who uses after hours answering
- Taxi and private hire fleets – night bookings, early airport runs, weekend surge.
- Limousine and black car operators – red-eye departures, delayed inbound flights, event overruns.
- Courier, last-mile and food delivery – late order waves, failed deliveries, restaurant escalations.
- Logistics and trucking operations – overnight driver calls, appointment changes, yard and dock queries.
What you are not signing up for
- No long-term contract. Month to month, stop when it stops being useful.
- No new software to buy. We work in the platform you already use.
- No minimum seat count. Start with the shift that hurts most.
- Special rates for overnight, weekend-only and holiday cover.
Frequently asked questions
Can you cover only the hours we choose?
Yes. Some operators use us from 6pm to 8am on weekdays plus all weekend. Others use us only on Friday and Saturday nights. You set the window and we cover it.
Do callers know it is an outside team?
They know they reached your company, because we answer in your name with your greeting and your information. We are your night desk, not a third party reading from a card.
What happens in a genuine emergency at 3am?
We follow the escalation list you give us during onboarding. Anything on that list reaches the named person immediately. Anything not on it is handled and reported in the morning summary.
Is this just message taking?
No. Message-taking services hand you a pile of callbacks. We complete the work – book the job, dispatch the driver, resolve the query – so there is nothing waiting for you at 8am except a summary.
