What our dispatchers do inside your iCabbi account
- Take the booking by phone and enter it properly – pickup, drop, passenger count, flight number, account code, notes the driver actually needs.
- Watch the auto-allocation and step in when it stalls – reassign, force-offer or manually push a job when no driver accepts.
- Manage pre-bookings and the morning airport run – confirm the night before, chase the driver at 03:40, call the passenger if the car is late.
- Handle account and corporate work – repeat bookings, standing orders, cost center references entered against the right account every time.
- Chase the exceptions – no-shows, waiting time disputes, meter versus quoted fare queries, driver-passenger mismatches.
- Keep the driver channel calm – answer driver calls so they stop calling the owner’s mobile at 2am.
The Friday night problem in a taxi fleet
Taxi and private hire demand is not flat. It spikes on Friday and Saturday nights, on public holidays, during bad weather, and at 5am for airport runs. Those are exactly the hours when hiring a full-time office dispatcher makes the least sense and matters the most. Most fleets solve it by making the owner or a senior driver the after-hours dispatcher, and that works until the person burns out or misses a call from a corporate account that then books with somebody else.

No migration, no morning data entry
You do not move off iCabbi and you do not import anything. We log into the account you already have, at the permission level you decide, and work the jobs there. Everything we do is in your system in real time, so when you open your laptop in the morning the night shift is already recorded – jobs, fares, notes, cancellations – not sitting in a spreadsheet waiting to be re-keyed.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need admin access to our iCabbi account?
No. Dispatcher-level access is enough for the work. You decide what we can see and change, and you can revoke it at any time.
Can you answer our phone line as well as dispatch?
Yes, and most fleets want both. We answer in your company name, book the job in iCabbi and follow it through to drop-off. One team, one handover, no gap between the call and the car.
How do you handle airport pickups and flight delays?
We take the flight number at booking, check the arrival before the driver is dispatched, and move the job rather than burning waiting time on a plane that is ninety minutes late.
What happens when no driver accepts a job?
We follow your rules. Widen the radius, call the nearest driver directly, offer it to a backup affiliate, or call the passenger with a realistic time rather than leaving them watching a spinner.
How long before your dispatchers are useful?
Usually a few days. We need your zones, your rate rules, your account clients, your escalation contacts and your do-not-do list. After that we shadow your existing dispatcher before taking a shift alone.
Running more than one system? Plenty of fleets do. We also staff Autocab dispatch and TaxiCaller, so if you migrate off iCabbi later the same team carries on in the new platform.
