Long Island car services live on airport runs. A 4am pickup in Garden City for JFK, a LaGuardia return to Huntington that lands an hour late and a summer Friday to the Hamptons can all sit on the same board, with the Expressway deciding how long each one takes. Grasp Solutions provides outsourced dispatch and call answering for Nassau and Suffolk limousine, black car, sedan and local car service operators, staffed by trained people around the clock and working inside the booking system you already run.

We will be plain about where we are. Our operations center is in Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers work Eastern time hours alongside your fleet. That is what makes real overnight cover possible: the person answering at 3am Long Island time, when the early JFK runs are being confirmed, is starting a shift, not finishing a double.

What makes dispatch on Long Island different

  • Three airports and a city next door – JFK, LaGuardia and MacArthur each have their own pickup habits, and most of your long trips start or end in New York City.
  • The Expressway sets the clock – a slowdown on the LIE, the Northern State or the Southern State changes every ETA from Nassau to the East End.
  • Summer moves east – Hamptons and North Fork weekends turn Friday afternoons and Sunday nights into one long run after another.
  • Two counties, two sets of paperwork – Nassau and Suffolk each register for-hire vehicles and license drivers, and some towns and villages issue their own licenses.
  • Local car service is still a phone business – regular customers call for the station, the doctor and the airport, and they expect someone to pick up.

What our dispatchers handle

  • Live booking calls – answered in your company name and entered straight into your dispatch platform with pickup, drop, passenger count, luggage and flight number.
  • Airport and flight watching – JFK, LaGuardia and MacArthur arrivals tracked, pickups moved when flights move, and the passenger told where to meet the driver.
  • Driver support – reassignments, no shows, vehicle problems and the call from a driver who cannot find a passenger at a terminal, an LIRR station or a hotel.
  • Corporate and residential accounts – standing bookings and account rules handled the way each account expects, including who may book and how trips are billed.
  • Hamptons and event blocks – summer weekend runs, weddings, proms and game nights entered and confirmed as a set.

People, not AI

Every call is answered by a person. A regular customer calling for her usual 5am car, or a traveler whose flight just diverted from LaGuardia to JFK, wants someone who can think, not a menu. Our dispatchers learn your service area, your vehicle classes, your regular accounts and the terminal doors, station platforms and hotel entrances your drivers actually use. For where AI answering helps and where it breaks on a dispatch line, see our guide to AI phone answering systems vs human dispatchers.

Coverage

Cover runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holiday weekends, summer Fridays and the nights when in-house cover is hardest to hold. Choose the full clock, overnight only, weekends only, summer weekends only, or overflow behind your own dispatchers at peak hours. Special rates apply to overnight, weekend and holiday only cover.

No migration, no morning data entry

We work in your systems. Our dispatchers are used to Limo Anywhere, Moovs, TaxiCaller, iCabbi and other operator-owned platforms, plus hosted phone queues and shared inboxes. Bookings taken overnight are already in your platform when your day dispatcher logs in.

What you are not signing up for

  • No long term contract. Month to month, and you stop when it stops being useful.
  • No platform switch. We use the dispatch software and phone system you already have.
  • No minimum seat count. Cover one shift, one summer season or the whole year.
  • Special rates for overnight, weekend and holiday only cover.

The Long Island rules your dispatch desk runs into

In Nassau County, every for-hire vehicle that picks up or drops off passengers in the county must be registered with the Nassau County Taxi and Limousine Commission. That covers taxis, limousines and other pre-arranged paid transportation. A registered vehicle shows its registration decal on the passenger side of the windshield and keeps its registration card in the vehicle at all times.

Driver licensing in Nassau is split. The County issues for-hire driver licenses in the towns and villages that do not issue their own hack licenses, while places such as Hempstead, Long Beach and Rockville Centre license drivers and businesses themselves. Some municipalities also license vehicle owners and the base stations that take prearranged rides.

In Suffolk County, the Suffolk County Taxi and Limousine Commission registers the for-hire vehicles operating in the county and issues for-hire driver licenses.

For a dispatch desk this is practical. A car service working both counties can need a Nassau registration, a Suffolk registration and the right local driver license for each trip. Before a car is sent across a county line, whoever is dispatching needs to know that vehicle and driver are covered where the pickup is. We keep that on the board, so an overnight dispatcher is not guessing.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have an office on Long Island?

No. Our operations center is in Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers work Eastern time for Long Island fleets. The booking platform and phone queue are online, so nothing about the service depends on being in New York.

Can you handle JFK and LaGuardia runs as well as local work?

Yes. Flight numbers are captured on every airport booking, arrivals are watched through the night, and the passenger is told where to meet the driver before they land.

Can you cover only early mornings and summer weekends?

Yes. Many Long Island operators start with the hours between 10pm and 7am and the summer weekends, because that is when early airport runs and Hamptons trips are booked.

How quickly can cover start?

Once we have access to your dispatch platform and a written escalation list, cover is usually live within days.

In the city itself we run the same desks for New York limo, black car and base operators, so a fleet that works both sides of the county line can keep one dispatch team.

Dispatch cover in other US cities

If you run vehicles beyond Long Island, we keep the same desks and the same people on dispatch in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Houston, Washington DC, Dallas, Boston, Atlanta, Florida and Jacksonville. Fleets that only need the quiet hours covered usually start with after-hours answering or overflow call handling instead of a full desk.
