Shipday tells you where the order is. It does not answer the phone when a customer says the driver never knocked, and it does not chase a driver who has gone quiet three stops into a run. Grasp Solutions puts trained human dispatchers into your Shipday account so somebody is running the board while your kitchen runs the kitchen.
What our dispatchers do inside your Shipday account
- Order intake. Phone orders, email orders and call-backs on online orders, entered into Shipday with the right address, items, notes and promise time.
- Driver assignment. We assign to your in-house drivers, and where you use a third-party driver network we push the order out and track it through to drop-off.
- Delay watch. We monitor orders that are drifting past their promise time and get ahead of the complaint instead of waiting for it.
- Customer calls. Tracking-link questions, address corrections, missing items, redelivery requests, all handled by a person and logged against the order.
- Driver support. Access codes, gate entry, parking, wrong-address calls and reroutes, answered live.
- End-of-shift handover. A clean summary of what happened overnight, so nobody starts the day guessing.
Why restaurants and ghost kitchens hand over the board
During a rush, dispatch is usually whoever is nearest the tablet. That works until it does not: a driver goes off-route, two orders for the same street get split across two runs, and a customer rings the store while the line is out of the door. The cost is not the software. It is the hour a manager loses every evening and the refunds nobody had to give.
A dedicated dispatcher watching Shipday full-time is cheaper than the chaos, and does not walk out mid-shift.
People, not AI
Every call is answered by a person. We do not use voice bots or synthetic agents. When a customer is angry about a cold order, the fix is a human who can apologise properly and make a decision inside the rules you set.
Coverage
All four continental US time zones, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, holidays included. Our operations center runs from Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers are trained on US delivery operations, US addressing and US customer expectations. Take the full clock or just the shifts you cannot staff: dinner rush overflow, late night, weekends or holidays. Special rates apply to overnight-only and weekend-only cover.
No migration, no morning data entry
You keep Shipday. We log into it under our own named accounts at the permission level you choose. Every order, note and status change is already in your system when you open it, so there is nothing to re-key and nothing to reconcile.
What you are not signing up for
- No long-term contract. Month to month, stop when it stops being useful.
- No platform switch and no new software to learn.
- No minimum seat count you have to grow into.
- Special rates for overnight-only and weekend-only cover.
Frequently asked questions
Can you dispatch to third-party driver networks as well as our own drivers?
Yes. Most operators we work with run a hybrid: in-house drivers first, third-party fleet as overflow. You tell us the rule, such as distance, order value or how many of your own drivers are free, and we apply it consistently instead of by gut feel at eight on a Friday.
We have several locations. Can one dispatcher cover them all?
Usually, yes, up to a point. Multi-location operators are one of the clearest cases for outsourced dispatch, because one trained person watching every board beats a part-time dispatcher at each site. As volume grows we add agents rather than asking you to.
Can we use you only for the dinner rush?
Yes. Overflow-only and shift-only arrangements are normal. Plenty of clients start with the hours that hurt, usually late evening and weekends, and widen from there once they trust the handover.
What access do you need?
A dispatcher-level Shipday login per agent, plus whatever phone routing you want us on. Named logins mean every action is traceable to a person, and you can revoke access at any time without touching your own accounts.
How long does onboarding take?
Days, not weeks. We need logins, your delivery zones and promise times, your refund and redelivery rules, escalation contacts, and one call to walk through how you want exceptions handled.
