A freight desk does not stop being busy when the office closes. A driver sits outside a closed dock at 5am. A broker calls about a load running four hours behind. A customer wants an ETA on a delivery that went out before anyone clocked off. Grasp Solutions runs a dispatch and call handling desk for freight, trucking and last mile logistics fleets, staffed by trained people who work inside the TMS and phone system you already use.

To be plain about what this is: we are the desk that answers the phone, tracks the load, calls the driver, updates your system and keeps your customer informed. We are not a software vendor and we are not a bot. We do not replace your TMS and we do not ask you to change how you run your lanes.

What our dispatchers do on a freight desk

Why freight desks break overnight

Trucking runs across four continental time zones on one shift pattern. A load leaving Los Angeles at 6pm Pacific is a 9pm problem on the East Coast and a 3am problem for whoever is carrying the phone. Most small and mid sized carriers solve this by handing one person a cell phone and hoping the night stays quiet. That works until they take a holiday, sleep through a call, or leave.

The cost is rarely one missed call. It is detention nobody logged, a reconsignment that one phone call would have prevented, a driver waiting three hours because no appointment was rebooked, and a broker who quietly stops offering you freight because your night number rings out.

People, not AI

Every call is taken by a person. A driver stuck at a closed receiver does not need a menu tree, and a broker chasing a load does not want to repeat a reference number to a machine. Our dispatchers learn your lanes, your regular customers, your accessorial rules and the names of the drivers who call in most. They read the notes from the previous shift, so nobody starts a call from zero.

Coverage

We cover all four continental United States time zones, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the nights and public holidays when in house cover is hardest to hold. Our operations center runs from Lahore, Pakistan, and our dispatchers are trained on United States freight operations, United States addressing and the way American shippers and receivers expect to be spoken to. We also cover fleets in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Cover can be the whole clock or only the part you cannot hold yourself. Overnight only, weekend only, holiday only, or overflow during your own dispatchers busiest hours. Special rates apply to overnight, weekend and holiday only cover.

No migration, no morning data entry

We work in your systems. Give us access to the TMS, the phone queue and the tracking portal you already pay for, and the work lands there directly. There is no export, no spreadsheet handover and no pile of notes waiting for your day shift to retype. Your morning dispatcher opens the same screen they closed the night before and sees exactly what happened while they were asleep.

Frequently asked questions

Do you source loads or negotiate rates with brokers?

No. This is a dispatch and call handling desk, not a freight brokerage. We answer your calls, track your loads, update your systems and keep your drivers and customers moving. Load sourcing and rate negotiation stay with you.

Which systems can your dispatchers work in?

Whatever you already run. Our dispatchers are used to working inside customer owned TMS platforms, ELD and tracking portals, shared inboxes and hosted phone queues. If your own team can do it from a browser, so can we.

Will drivers know they are talking to an outside desk?

Only if you want them to. Calls are answered in your company name and our dispatchers introduce themselves the way your own office staff would. Plenty of carriers simply tell their drivers that the night desk is an extension of the office, which works just as well.

How quickly can night cover start?

Once we have system access and a written escalation list, a night desk can usually be live in days rather than weeks. The setup work is learning your lanes and your rules, not installing anything.
